Safely manage the risk associated with a staged re-introduction of international travel
When restarting an economy, how do we manage opening the borders whilst containing risk and exposure? We need something more than domestic contact tracing.
Traveller visibility in the new normal
Governments currently have limited controls and existing systems don’t provide constant traveller visibility. However, with recorded, reliable pre-travel testing and treatment, supported by a solid control system that ensures no significant gaps exist, the traveller becomes “visible” for the entire journey, commencing with the initial travel booking.
Governments need a system focused on:
- Providing an end to end real-time platform which ensures safe international travel
- Managing the risk in reopening borders with a digital pathways solution
- Restarting tourism, business travel and international education in the “new” normal
- Keeping national and international communities safe.
Establishing a reputation as a safe destination will enable the return of overseas students, tourists and specialist migrant workers who are a significant sector of the economy. Maintaining that reputation will be a major differentiator and competitive advantage for the countries who are successful in opening their borders.
Introducing goPassport
goPassport is a COVID-19 alert system for inbound international travellers. It monitors and audits government policy and tracks a traveller’s results:
- Pre-travel screening procedures
- Pre-travel isolation and quarantine measures
- In-country quarantine management
- Ongoing symptom checking and escalation
- Programmed testing
- Traveller medi-stay and tele-health assistance
- Real-time non-compliant response and escalation
- Capacity to integrate service provider compliance status updates
- Ability to manage multi-tiered national and regional policy programs
goPassport provides a policy wrapper around travellers and will cover the gaps in existing systems where travellers aren’t visible and could potentially present a risk or come to harm. These ‘gaps’ may be due either to there being no prior perceived need for monitoring, or where the jurisdiction moves between departments or agencies.
How it works
goPassport is compatible with the Android and iOS APIs for national COVID-19 contract tracking apps. The goPassport solution has 3 proven components:
- A real-time policy engine that maintains every traveller’s individual geo-located pathway and status to safe entry and health compliance in a country. Multi-level capability to warn, alert and escalate non-compliance back to the individual, managing institutions or health and local enforcement agencies.
- An individually tuned app for travellers that guides their policy programme simply, safely, prior to and during their country travel.
- A status portal with live relevant dashboards at a national, regional and institutional level for Department of Health, Immigration / Border Force and management institutions
