Predictive Maintenance of Overhead Transmission and Distribution Lines

Altimore.ai Optimal Grid provides a comprehensive mobile solution for non-destructive assessment of utility wooden poles and engineering load calculation. The solution addresses a challenging problem of finding substandard poles in the utility or telecommunication network.

To manage assets across the grid effectively, the solution provides a combination of hardware and software applications that produce health indicators including remaining strength and probability of failure for in-service wooden poles.

The hardware device uses a series of sensors that allow creation of pole tomography. The software application takes into consideration all relevant factors specified in engineering standards including regional historical extreme wind data and environmental parameters.

The detailed information captured throughout the inspection process is utilised to generate specific reports based on customer needs and perform various types of data analytics.
